Marsene Baisden Patterson

Marsene Baisden Patterson, a dedicated wife, mother, and grandmother, passed away in Ogden, Utah, on Tuesday, December 9, 2025, at the age of 84.

Born on September 13, 1941, in Turkey, Texas, Marsene was the daughter of the late Emmett Boyce and Gladys Nadine (Hollingsworth) Baisden. 

She married Clesby Lynn Patterson on May 24, 1964, beginning a 61-year partnership that led them from Texas to their home in Ogden, Utah.

Marsene dedicated her professional life to the Internal Revenue Service (IRS), where she achieved the position of Senior Revenue Agent, approaching her work with meticulous attention and professionalism before retiring in 2007. Outside of her career, she enjoyed golfing for many years and was an avid bridge player, sharing many memorable hours with friends. While successful in her career, Marsene’s primary focus was her family, and she provided a strong foundation for her children and grandchildren. She will be remembered for her intellect, strength of character, infectious laugh, and the Texas accent she maintained throughout her life.

Marsene is survived by her husband, Clesby Lynn Patterson, their two children, Chad Patterson, and his children, Alexis and Mackenzie; and Karen Patterson Foley and her husband, Jay Foley and their daughter, Caitlin.

She was preceded in death by her parents and her brothers, Robert Lee Baisden and Jimmie Dave Baisden.

A private family viewing will be held at Lindquist’s Ogden Mortuary.
