Steve Montalto Obituary

Obituary published on Legacy.com by Honquest Family Funeral Home with Crematory - Loves Park on Feb. 1, 2024.
It is with heavy hearts that we announce the sudden passing of our beloved father, grandfather, brother, and friend, Steve.
Steve Montalto, 61, was born in Chicago, IL, to Steve and Marjorie Montalto. He was 1 of 8 children and family meant everything to him. At the age of 17, he went on to work at the Axle roller rink. This led him to meet the love of his life, Vicky, and as they say, the rest is history. Steve was a man of many talents and was the one you would call if you needed anything fixed. There was nothing he couldn't figure out. He took pride in being able to transform something broken or damaged into something functional and beautiful.
Steve had the personality and natural charisma to make friends no matter the situation, and his laugh was infectious to everyone around him. No matter what, you couldn't help but love him. A man of many stories, some factual and others questionable, he could always entertain. Everyone who knew Steve knew all he ever wanted in life was to be with family. We will forever cherish the memories we shared, everything he taught us, and the love he showed us.
He is survived by his one true love, Vicky Gill; his children, Steve Montalto, Ashley (John) Naveroski, Dillon (Lindsey) Montalto, and Alexis Montalto; granddaughters, Halie and Mackenzie; grandsons, Kayden and Rowan and grand-pup, Charlie.
In lieu of flowers, we ask that you take a moment to hug your loved ones. Time waits for no one and life really is too short.
