Agnes Montalto Obituary

Obituary published on Legacy.com by Flanigan Funeral Home & Crematory on Dec. 6, 2025.
November 7, 1936 – December 6, 2025

Agnes Burke Comeau Montalto, age 89, of Gainesville, Georgia, entered into eternal rest on December 6, 2025. Born on November 7, 1936, in Adams, Massachusetts, Agnes lived a life filled with devotion, strength, humor, and unwavering love for her family. Agnes was predeceased by her first husband of 35 years, Philip Leon Comeau, and her second husband of nearly 20 years, James Vincent Montalto. She was also preceded in death by her beloved sister Joan Dutcher, her daughter Kathy Dacus, her son Steve Comeau, and her daughter-in-law Kelly Comeau.

She leaves behind a legacy of love through her daughter Linda King; her five grandchildren, Melissa Thomas, Chris Dacus, Nicole Crawford, Alysha Dacus, and Stephanie Comeau; and her ten great-grandchildren, Andrew, Corinne, Austin, Jacelyn, Anna, Christopher, James, John, Carly, and Addison. Each of them was a treasured part of her life, and she took great joy in watching her family grow. Agnes had a special fondness for children and shared her warmth freely with anyone blessed to know her. She loved dancing, especially the jitterbug, and never missed an opportunity to enjoy the music of her favorite performer, Elvis Presley. Her faith anchored her throughout her life, and she was a devoted member of Prince of Peace Catholic Church in Flowery Branch, Georgia.

A memorial service to honor Agnes's life will be held on Saturday, December 20th, at Flanigan Funeral Home, located at 4400 S Lee St., Buford, Georgia. Visitation will take place from 2:30 PM to 3:30 PM, followed by a memorial service from 3:30 PM to 4:30 PM.

In lieu of flowers, the family kindly requests donations be made to the Alzheimer's Association to support research and assistance for families affected by the disease. (www.alz.org).

Agnes will be remembered for her kindness, her strength, her loving heart, and the joy she brought to all who knew her. Her spirit will live on in the countless memories she created with her family and friends. To know her was to love her.
