Theresa Montalto Obituary

Obituary published on Legacy.com by Clancy-Palumbo Funeral Home & Cremation Service on Mar. 29, 2025.
Theresa Marie (DiSpazio) Montalto, 94 of North Branford, formerly of East Haven passed away March 25, 2025. She was born May 3, 1930 in New Haven to Joseph and Elizabeth (Violano) DiSpazio. Theresa is survived by her three sons; Joseph Montalto (JoAnn) of North Branford, Michael Montalto (Carole) of South Carolina and William Montalto of New Jersey along with two grandchildren; Joseph Montalto and Nicole Montalto.
Theresa is preceded in death by her parents and husband, William Montalto (2005).
Theresa attended Commercial High School in New Haven and worked for The Yale Press until she married William. She was a homemaker and raised her three sons, who were the center of her life. She maintained a solid home life for her family. When the kids came home from school, there was always something in the oven for that night's dessert. She belonged to the East Shore Senior Center. Theresa loved picking up her grandkids from Saint Bernadette School and taking them for ice cream or to the park. She loved reading, needlepoint, and crocheting. She was a devout Catholic and had many books about Mother Theresa. Theresa was admired by many for her strength and positive attitude, always looking on the bright side. Her famous saying was "when there's a will, there's a way!"
A private service was held on Saturday morning, March 29, 2025 at the Clancy-Palumbo Funeral Home, 43 Kirkham Ave., East Haven with the burial alongside her husband at East Lawn Cemetery in East Haven, CT
