STEVE MORGAN

Ralph Stephen "Steve" Morgan-beloved husband, father, brother, and friend-passed away peacefully on Monday, July 28, 2025 after a courageous battle with cancer. Surrounded by those who loved him most, Steve leaves behind a legacy of kindness, compassion, faith, and quiet strength.

Steve is survived by his devoted wife Marie Morgan of Palatka; his son and daughter-in-law, Stephen Morgan II and Amber of Candler, NC; daughter, Sarai Morgan of Asheville, NC; his loving sisters, Evonne Adkins of Leesburg, Ann Lavelle (Jack) of Accomac, VA, and Janet Morgan (Dave) of Leesburg; a sister-in-law, Kelly Pennington of Daytona Beach; and numerous nieces, nephews, cousins, and extended family members.

A gentle soul with a deep love for animals, Steve found great joy and purpose in caring for those who could not speak for themselves. After retiring, he dedicated his time to volunteering at a local animal shelter, S.A.F.E., where his calm presence and generous heart brought comfort to countless animals and fellow volunteers.

Steve was a man of deep faith and a true lover of God. He found peace and inspiration in reading the Bible, and his spiritual strength was a guiding light throughout his life. He also found joy in the simple things-tending to his garden, fishing, the ocean, and watching NASCAR with enthusiasm, always cheering for Jeff Gordon. One of his greatest joys was cheering on the Georgia Bulldogs with his daughter, Sarai, a cherished tradition full of pride, team spirit, and laughter.

Steve was a practical joker who loved to make people laugh, often catching family and friends off guard with a perfectly timed prank or witty remark. His sense of humor and lightheartedness brought joy to every room he entered.

He also loved playing cards and was a proud member of the "Hole Gang," a close-knit group of friends who shared many laughs, stories, and hands over the years. These gatherings were more than games-they were moments of connection, camaraderie, and lasting friendship.

Those who knew Steve will remember him as a kind-hearted man who led with empathy, lived with integrity, and loved without condition. His quiet humor, steady wisdom, and deep loyalty left a lasting impact on all who had the privilege of knowing him.

Steve's legacy lives on in the love he gave, the lives he touched, and the family who carry his memory forward. He will be deeply missed and forever remembered.

A private service will be held by the family. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in Steve's memory to the local animal shelter of your choice or to The American Cancer Society.
