Steve Porter
07/25/1946 - 03/13/2026
Steve Porter, 79, of El Campo, TX, went to be with his Savior, Jesus Christ on March 13, 2026. He was born in Appleton, Wisconsin on July 25, 1946 to Harry Eugene Porter and Verlee (Lee) Asman Porter, both WWII Navy veterans. After living in Savannah, Georgia briefly, he was raised in Houston and graduated from Memorial High School and was an Eagle Scout. Steve was a proud University of Houston Cougar and graduated with a Bachelor of Science in Physics and a Master of Business Administration from Houston Christian University. He married the love of his life Nancy Whitehead Porter on December 1, 1979, and they had four incredible sons.
He was preceded in death by his father, mother and brother, Joe. He is survived by his wife, Nancy; sons: Kirk (wife Tanya), Mike (wife Melanie), John (wife Blair) and Chris (wife Anastasia); his sister Christy Thompson and husband Steve of Colorado Springs, CO; his brother-in-law Charles Whitehead and wife Diane of Kyle, TX; his aunt Rebecca Martin of Spring, TX; his beloved grandchildren: Jake, Abigail, Sophie, Harrison, Caleb, Thom, Sam, Davy, and Juniper, along with wonderful nieces and nephews and the dearest of friends.
The family wants to thank his doctors at the MD Anderson Cancer Center and his care givers with Family Tree and Enhabit Hospice.
A Celebration of Life service will be held at 11 am on Thursday, March 26, 2025 at Grace Point Community Church in El Campo, 820 West Loop, El Campo, TX.
"Let not your heart be troubled: believe in God, believe also in me," John 14:1.
