The funeral for Steve D. Pritchett is scheduled for Friday, March 29, 2024 at 10:30 am at Wilson-Orwosky Funeral Home, 803 N. Texas Street, Emory, Texas. His visitation will be Thursday from 5:30 P.M. to 7:30 P.M. at the same location. He will be buried at Hillcrest Cemetery in Forney, Texas at 1:30 pm.
Steve D. Pritchett, died of pneumonia in Lake Pointe Hospital on March 24, 2024 in Rowlett, Texas at the age of 92 years.
Steve was survived by son, Douglas W. Pritchett and his wife, Joni Pritchett, his daughter Deborah P. Everett and her husband, Arlie Everett, his grandchildren, Krystal Palyu, Marshall Everett and his wife, Katie Labor, and his great-grand-daughter, Josephine Margaret Everett.
Steve was born in Foreman, Arkansas on March 14, 1932. He spent much of his youth between Arkansas, Oklahoma and Texas. He married Effie Sue Pritchett in 1954 and they were married for 66 years before she passed away. He was preceded in death by his father, Claude Edward “Bill” Pritchett, his brother, Preston Pritchett and his sister, Claudine Wahnon.
Steve was a veteran who proudly served in the Navy “SeaBees.” He translated his knowledge of heavy equipment into a thriving excavation business in Dallas until he retired. His second career in cattle and real estate began when he moved to Point, Texas in 1990. Steve was a dedicated husband and father.
