Steve Quarles, 66, of Calhoun, Georgia, passed away on Tuesday, August 29, 2023. He was born on April 13, 1957, to the late Harold Lindsey and Madia Mabel Quarles. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his son, Zachary Quarles and his sister, Darlene Quarles.
Steve was a charter member of Boone Ford Baptist Church since 1974, and a deacon of the church for 40 years. He was also the bass player for Boone Ford Baptist for 49 years and member of the Bohannon Family Quartet.
Steve is survived by his loving wife of 48 years, Aletae Quarles; children, Ross and Katie Quarles, Shelley and Jay Holsomback; sister, Donna Hightower; grandchildren, Bryson Parker, Ansleigh Quarles, and Ambree Quarles.
The family will receive friends on Thursday, August 31, 2023, from 4:00 PM until 9:00 PM at Boone Ford Baptist Church.
The funeral will be held on Friday, September 1, 2023, at 2:00 PM from Boone Ford Baptist Church with Rev. Walter Bohannon, Rev. Steve McDougle, and Rev. Gary Quarles officiating. Burial will follow in Bethlehem Baptist Church Cemtery. Pallbearers are Walter Bohannon, Bryan Bohannon, Gary Faucett, Charlie Isham, Timmy Wilson, and Chad Greeson. Honorary Pallbearers are Newt “Sputnik” Evans, Jerry Burkett, Greg Brock, Robert Black, Jimmy Smith, and former Quality Finishers employees.
The Brannon family and staff are honored to serve the family of Steve Quarles.
