Steve Sutton Obituary
Steve Sutton
Steve Sutton, of Metter, passed away early Tuesday, March 10, 2026, at Bostick Nursing Center.
Steve was born in Twin City and was the son of Rufus Sutton and Edna Bishop Sutton. He worked in construction as a carpenter with Tommy Rigdon Construction. Steve grew up in the Church of God and enjoyed fishing and hunting. He had a passion for hot rod cars and loved fixing, restoring, and driving them.
In addition to his parents, Steve was preceded in death by his wife, Evelyn Doyle Sutton; one sister; and three brothers.
Survivors include his children, Russell Christopher (Rosanna) of Metter, Mickey Sutton (Mylene) of Metter, Patty Hall (David) of Metter, Laura Sutton of Metter.
He is also survived by two brothers, Gene Sutton (Joyce) of Metter and Don Sutton (Pat) of Stilson; two sisters, Joyce Woodcock (James “Woody”) of Metter and Flossie Nell Rigdon of Metter; twelve grandchildren; nine great-grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews.
A memorial service will be held Saturday, March 14, 2026, at 2:00 p.m. at Kennedy Funeral Homes, Hooks Chapel with Rev. Bo Fulginiti officiating.
