OFFICIAL FAMILY ANNOUNCEMENT
In Memory of Steve Wise
The Wise family wishes to share the following official update with the many friends, colleagues, and members of the racing community who have reached out with sympathy, support, and questions following the passing of Steve Wise.
First, we want to express our deep gratitude for the extraordinary outpouring of kindness from across Texas and from friends and supporters far and wide. Steve meant a great deal to many people, and your messages, prayers, and memories have been a genuine comfort to his children and extended family during this very difficult time.
In our initial announcement, the family shared Steve's own wishes regarding how he hoped people would honor him: not through flowers, and not through donations in his name, but by taking your children and grandchildren to the racetrack and supporting the sport of racing that he loved. Steve believed deeply in the power of racing to bring families together in fellowship and community, and that remains the truest way to honor his memory.
We want to clarify an important point for everyone who has asked about donations and organizations associated with Steve. Steve Wise Ministries is not an active 501(c)(3). It ceased to exist as an operating entity upon Steve's passing and is now part of the Steve Wise estate. Any and all matters relating to it will be handled through the estate and reviewed by the court-appointed executor. For this reason, the family respectfully asks that no donations be sent to any organization or website claiming to collect funds in Steve's name or under the banner of Steve Wise Ministries.
We make this request out of respect for the hard-earned money of working families and because we do not want to see anyone's generosity misdirected or tied up in probate. If you feel moved to give, please consider supporting a worthy local charity in your own community, or better yet, honor Steve by supporting local racing and introducing young people to the sport and the values of camaraderie and perseverance that he cherished.
Arrangements for Steve's memorial service and celebration of life are currently being planned in consultation with the entire extended family.
All official announcements regarding the memorial, including the date, time, and location, will be made exclusively through:

The Kreidler family has cared for the Wise family for four generations, and we are deeply grateful for their professionalism, discretion, and support. They are the family's sole and official point of contact for funeral and memorial arrangements. We ask everyone to please rely only on announcements published by Kreidler Funeral Home and their website for accurate and confirmed information.
We also wish to be clear and protective of Steve's legacy: any other announcements, memorials, or solicitations for funds not made through Kreidler Funeral Home or the estate should be considered unofficial and not authorized by the family.
Steve expressly did not want others speaking on his behalf or stepping into his role after his passing. He wanted his life's work and his love for racing to stand on their own, and he wanted people to keep supporting the living community of the sport he loved.
We are deeply touched by your continued support and patience, and we ask for your understanding and respect for the family's privacy as we bring Steve home and finalize arrangements.
For family matters and official coordination, the family's sole spokesperson is Steve's son:
Josh Wise
