Steven L. Allen, born on August 31, 1970, in Wabash, Indiana, to Bev LaMont and Linda (Lane) Allen, passed away on January 18, 2025, at Stillwater Hospice in Fort Wayne.
Steven proudly served his country in both the Navy and the Army National Guard, embodying the values of service and sacrifice throughout his life. After being honorably discharged, Steven was an integral part of the maintenance tool and die team at General Motors, where enjoyed his job.
Known for his warm personality, Steven never met a stranger and had an innate ability to make everyone feel welcome. He cherished the time he spent in nature, particularly enjoying activities such as fishing and hiking, with a special fondness for watching eagles at Salamonie State Park. He also found joy in simple pleasures, often relaxing by watching classic shows like the Andy Griffith Show and M*A*S*H.
Known for making the best steaks, Steven had a profound love for his family, always ready to lend a helping hand to anyone in need. Furthermore, his enthusiasm for hockey was evident, as he avidly followed the Fort Wayne Komets and the Dallas Stars, and he enjoyed playing hockey as much as he could.
Steven was a proud member of the Freemasons, embodying the principles of brotherhood and charity. His legacy is one of kindness, love, and a deep passion for life that will be remembered by all who knew him.
The loving memory of Steven L. Allen will be forever cherished by his mother, Linda Allen, North Manchester; sons, Michael “Mike” LaMont Steven (Brooke) Allen and Elix Joseph Allen, both of North Manchester; brothers, Joshua, Danny, and Dustin Allen, all of Wabash; sister, Margarett “Meg” (Kevin) O’Reilly, South Whitley; and two grandchildren. Steven was preceded in death by his father; sister, Melinda Allen; and step-daughter, Tosha Roland.
Family and friends may call Friday, January 24, 2025 from 1:30 p.m. to 2:30 p.m. at McKee Mortuary, 1401 State Road 114 West, North Manchester. Funeral services will begin at the conclusion of calling with Pastor J.P. Freeman officiating. Burial will be at Oaklawn Cemetery in North Manchester.
