Steven Baer

Steven Randall Baer (Steve) of Soper Road, Keeseville, New York, was carried home and welcomed into the arms of his Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ on July 26, 2025, with his loving wife, Andrea, by his side. Steve's last breath on earth was followed by his first breath in Heaven.

Steve was born in Plattsburgh, NY on February 28, 1959, the son of Richard and Judith Baer, one of six children.

After serving in the Navy, he began a career as a Health Physics Supervisor, working in nuclear plants across the United States.

Steve's first love was God. He was a member of the First Assembly of God Church in Plattsburgh, NY. He was a member of The Gideons International and recently served as the president of the local chapter in Clinton County, NY. He spent countless hours distributing Bibles at the Clinton County Fair and the UVM Health Network. In 2003, he met and married Andrea Nelson, the love of his life. They moved back to Keeseville, the town he grew up in.

Steve's hobbies included reading, antique picking, organic gardening, raising animals, and traveling all over the country with his family.

Left to cherish the memory of Steve is his wife of twenty-one years, Andrea, his son Cortland and his mom Judith Baer; his brothers, Richard Jr. (Cathy), Robbe (Renee), and, Rodney (Judy); his sisters, Ruthanne (John) and Heidi (Jeff); and, many nieces and nephews.

Family and friends are invited to call on August 8, 2025 at First Assembly Of God Church 164 Prospect Ave. Plattsburgh, NY from 10:30 AM till 11:00 AM. A Funeral Service will be held at 11:00 AM with Pastor Phil Kneller presiding. Committal Prayers with Military Honors will be in Port Douglas Cemetery following the luncheon.
