Steven A. Botti, 77, of Manchester left his earthly body on January 4th, 2026, after a tough-fought second battle with cancer.
Steven was born at Manchester Memorial Hospital in 1948 to Madeline Scagnelli Botti and Louis Michael Botti; the youngest of three children. Steven worked on the family's farm on Bush Hill Road, Botti Fruit Farm, and served in the Army Reserve for six years.
Steven attended Cheney Tech after graduating from Manchester High School, training as a mechanic during his studies. He was a gifted mechanic from a young age. Working on the family farm from childhood; he would tinker with the family's tractors while working the orchards. Steven would go on to work at Monaco Ford in Glastonbury for nearly half a century.
During his time on the family's farm; Steven picked apples & fruits, made cider, cultivated produce, and raised numerous livestock. Steven was the third generation of Botti's on the family's farm. Each year Steven would welcome children from area schools and the 4H organization to learn how cider is made. Countless news articles highlight his tutelage with the local community. Steven sold the family farm to the Manchester Land Trust to guarantee the land's preservation for generations to come, moving to Vernon in 2015. Steven's passions were family, farming, camping, traveling, hiking, coffee drinking, and tinkering across his 77 years on earth.
Steven is survived by his wife of 55 years (together for 60 years), Linda Tuxbury Botti, with whom he welcomed three children and their spouses: Kimberly & Mike Dube, Kristine & Craig Fortier, and Steven & Leah Botti. Steven is also survived by his 8 grandchildren; from Kim & Mike: Malaina, Taylor, Jean-Luc, and Madeline; from Kristine & Craig: Zephyr & Adeline; and from Steven & Leah: Mason and Guiliana; as well as Steven's great grandchildren Zailynn, Zara, and one on the way from Taylor & Zeeke Campos and another on the way from Malaina & John Seminara. Thank you to Steven's caring neighbors who helped him in his final months including Dave & Ruth (and his adopted grandchildren Chloe, Ezra & Micah), Tara & Matt, and Dr. Dhandapani & his wife Laurie. Steven was also gracious for the care provided by Trinity Health's oncology department and hospice unit including Caroline, Tammy, Jennifer, Colleen, and Dr. Collier & staff.
