Longview Funeral Home & CemeterySteven Charles Bourn, 58, of Lee’s Summit, MO, passed away peacefully Sunday, July 27, 2025.
Steve was born March 25, 1967 in Keokuk, IA to Charles and Ann (Hill) Bourn and was raised in Gorin, MO.
Steve is survived by his loving wife of 28 years Amy (Groves) Bourn and daughter, Kelsie Bourn. Also surviving are sisters, Connie Lancaster, Cindy Walker (John), Lora Ewbank (Jim), Tracy Myers, Judy Shultz (Jerry), many nieces and nephews, and many other loving family members and friends.
After graduating from Scotland Country R-1 in Memphis, MO, Steve attended Missouri Western State College and received a Bachelor of Science degree in Business Administration. Early in his career, he worked for Western Auto, Advanced Auto Parts, and Midwest Kenworth. For the last 19 years, he was a valued member of the Custom Truck One Source team, first as a member of the parts department before moving into the estimation group where he continued to leave his mark through his professionalism, kindness and dedication.
He had a lifelong passion for cars and trucks—whether it was attending races or car shows, riding motorcycles or working in the garage. He was someone you could always count on and an all around good guy. He will be missed by all that knew him.
He is preceded in death by his parents, parents in law, Joseph and Marie Groves, and one brother in law, Dale Lancaster.
Memorial Services will be held on August 9, 2025 at Eagle Creek Church, 125 SE Stuart Road, Lee’s Summit, MO. Visitation will start at 1 pm followed by services at 2 pm. Burial will be in the Gorin Cemetery at a later date.
Family requests that memorials in lieu of flowers be given to the Gorin Community Cemetery and can be left at the church or mailed to the Gorin Community Cemetery, #SC 28409 CR 107, Gorin, MO 63543.
