Steven C. Bundy

Steven C. Bundy passed away on April 12, 2025 after living a full joyful life and reaching a nice old age of 74. He died of COPD. He said it was smoking that killed him.
Steve was born December 5, 1950 in Iowa City to Bruce and Helen Bundy. He grew up in Coralville and attended schools in Coralville, Iowa City and at The University of Iowa. He worked for 25 years as a project manager for a mechanical contractor in Iowa City and another 15 years as a construction manager for the University of Iowa. He happily retired in 2012 and thoroughly enjoyed his retirement and his Iowa City home.
He married Gail Halloran in 2000 in Iowa City. He cherished his loving and caring wife. He thoroughly enjoyed their many years together and all their travels and adventures. He loved his Bundy family of brother Bob, his wife Jan, nephew Alex, niece Sonja and her husband Jess. He treasured his large group of close friends and greatly appreciated their companionship. He appreciated his many coworkers and team members in the construction industry. He admired the many construction craftsmen he worked with and their amazing skills. He had the pleasure of working with many great architects and engineers. He greatly enjoyed motorcycling, tent-camping and traveling with family and friends.
Steve is survived by his wife Gail Halloran, Iowa City, brother Bob Bundy, Boulder, CO, nephew Alex Bundy (Robyn Ellis), Portland, OR, niece Sonja Eiesland (Jess), Fort Collins, CO, and his niece-in-law Erin Duncan and her husband Tanner, North Liberty, IA.
A celebration of life will be held May 17, 2025 at 1:00 PM at Lensing Funeral & Cremation Service, 605 Kirkwood Ave, Iowa City. Donations in Steve's honor may be made to a local Habitat for Humanity. His ashes will be buried at Memory Gardens, Iowa City.
