Funeral services for Steve Butler, 71, of Livingston, Texas will be held Monday, November 17, 2025, at 2:00 p.m., at the Cochran Funeral Home Chapel in Livingston, Texas with Bro. Mitchell Murphy and Dylan Eaves officiating. Visitation will be from 1:00 p.m. – 2:00 p.m. prior to the service.

Steve was born September 13, 1954, in Beaumont, Texas to parents Ashford Washington Butler and Mary Hazel (Borque) Butler and passed away November 15, 2025, in Livingston, Texas. He is preceded in death by his parents; brother, Lucian Lee Butler; and son-in-law, Brinton Sutherland.

Steve graduated Big Sandy ISD in 1973. He married Connie Overstreet May 25, 1974 and together had 4 children.

Steve was a lifelong logger and took pride in the job he did. He was an avid outdoorsman with a tremendous love for hunting, fishing and making sausage. In his spare time you could find him spending time with Connie, his kids and grandkids; teaching each and everyone of them how to hunt & fish. His best times were spent with his family on the Butler Creek bank, in a deer stand or watching Gun Smoke.

Steve is survived by his wife, Connie (Overstreet) Butler; children, Amber and Michael Tolar, Jessica and Jeremy Slack, Stevie and Travis Byrd, Steven Wayne Butler and Shian, Ashley and Billy Moffett, Karen and Dandy Bergman, Jesse and Jenna Butler; grandchildren Dylan and Shelby, Gus and Jessica, Grady and Kinzi, Grant and Marley, Makena, Averie, Cade and Jordyn, Case and Kajaigh, Jaycie and Brycen, Trig, Coy, Parker, Carter, Gatlin, Jaidyn, Korbin, Ramie and Chase, Abbie, Lucian, J.L. and Remi, Jagger and Maci, Jep, and Jude; great-grandchildren, Rhett, Riggs, Rowan, Emma, Lyndon, Bryer, Jensyn, Brinton and Colson; along with numerous other relatives and friends.
