Steven Hall Chapman, Jr., age 54, of Ashburn, Georgia, passed away on January 7, 2026, at his residence surrounded by his family.
Funeral services will be held at 11:00 A.M. on Saturday, January 10, 2026 at Inaha Baptist Church with Rev. Tim Morgan officiating and his sister, Jennifer Chapman delivering the eulogy. Interment will follow in Inaha Baptist Church Cemetery. The family will receive friends on Friday, January 9, 2026 from 5:00 to 7:00 P.M. at the church, 270 West Inaha Road, Sycamore, Ga. 31790.
Keith Massey, Danny Lewis, Buck Strickland, Brent Gregory, Glenn Pitts and John Childres will serve as pallbearers. Honorary pallbearers will be George McCranie, IV., Mathew Chapman, Daniel Stull, Caleb Chapman, Joshua Chapman, Salvador Corona, Tray Pritchett, Kevin Downs, Mike Wade, Wade Humanes and Bobby Wiley.
Steven was born in Coffee County, Georgia, to Steve Sr. and Marie Chapman and spent his life rooted in South Georgia. He was a lifelong member of Inaha Baptist Church, where his faith and church family were an important part of his life.
He graduated from Turner County High School in 1989. He then attended ABAC and graduated with an Associate’s Degree in Science in 1992. In 1995 he graduated with a Bachelor's of Business Administration from Georgia Southern University.
Steven was the proud owner and operator of Chapman Lawn Service and Chapman Pecans. Businesses he built through years of hard work and dedication. He took great pride in providing for his family and serving his community.
He is survived by his loving wife, Kayla Williamson Chapman; his children, Hall Chapman of Myrtle Beach, SC, Alaina Chapman Harrell (Nate) of Twentynine, Palms, CA, Eliza Chapman, Rebecca Chapman, and John Haskell Chapman of Ashburn; his grandmother, Imogene McCranie of Willacoochee, his siblings, Jennifer Chapman of Ashburn, Duane Chapman (Sarah) of Birmingham, AL, and Ben Chapman of Ashburn; Father and Mother in Law, Mark and Cathy Williamson of Tifton, brother in laws Cal Williamson and Casey Williamson of Tifton, sister in law Erin Melvin of Hawkinsville, and his nieces and nephews, Mathew Chapman, Daniel Stull, Madison Chapman, Caleb Chapman, Joshua Chapman, Lucy Chalon, Colin Williamson, Camden Williamson, Jagger Hursey, Kooper Hursey and Meredith Hursey. Steven is also survived by many aunts and uncles.
Steven was preceded in death by his grandparents, Dan and Genell Douglas and George McCranie III, as well as several beloved aunts and uncles.
Steven enjoyed golfing, fishing, riding dirt roads and listening to music, but above all, he treasured time spent with his children and family. His devotion as a husband, father, son, brother and friend defined his life, and he will be deeply missed by all who knew and loved him.
