Steven J. Chilcoat, 71, of York, passed away peacefully on February 12, 2026, with his family by his side. Born in York, Pennsylvania, on December 3, 1954, he was the son of the late James Chilcoat and Catherine (Myers).
He is survived by his beloved wife, Wanda Chilcoat, with whom he shared 43 years of marriage. In addition to his wife, he is survived by his sons, Darren Chilcoat and his wife Karen, and Randy Chilcoat and his wife Molly.
A proud and loving grandfather, he cherished Blake, Kenzie, Patrick, and Sophie, who brought him immense happiness and joy.
He is also survived by his brothers, Charles Chilcoat and Kenneth Chilcoat (Carla). He was preceded in death by his sister, Joan, and his brother, Larry.
A 1972 graduate of Susquehannock High School, he worked hard throughout his life. He began his career at USG/Tate as a Production Supervisor and later retired from BAE Systems. In retirement, he enjoyed assisting at Hartman's Fruit Farm and Charles Illyes Family, Inc. at the Penn Farmers Market.
He loved cheering for Penn State football and the Pittsburgh Steelers. A devoted husband, father, grandfather, and coach, he treasured watching his children and grandchildren play sports and was an avid fishing and crabbing enthusiast.
A viewing will be held at Geiple-Predicce Funeral and Cremation Services, Inc., 53 Main Street, Glen Rock, PA 17327, on Thursday, February 19, 2026, from 6:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. On Friday, February 20, 2026, visitation will begin at 10:00 a.m., followed by the funeral service at 11:00 a.m. Burial will follow at Susquehanna Memorial Gardens. A reception to celebrate Steve's life will be held after the graveside service.
