Steven Coon Obituary

Steven Earl Coon, age 78, of New Palestine, passed away Sunday, January 4, 2026, at his residence. He was born in Peru, IN on June 11, 1947, to Earl & Marjorie (Guillaume) Coon. He graduated from Logansport High School in 1966 and attended Indiana State & Michigan State. He served in the U.S. Army. He married Ann (Spoor) Coon on June 12, 1971, in North Judson, IN.

He worked in the food distribution industry as a Warehouse Manager. Mr. Coon was a member of Faith Lutheran Church. He loved yard work and the outdoors.

He is survived by his wife, Ann Coon; sons, Jeff (Elizabeth) Coon, and Brad (Melissa) Coon; daughter Lisa (Christopher) Golden; brother, Rex (Joyce) Coon; sister, Pamala (Larry) Cover; sister-in-law Chris Coon; grandchildren, Brooklyn Coon, Connor Garrison, Makaden Coon, Ella Coon, Ethan Golden, Cailin Coon; great-grandchild, Kinsley Griffin. He was preceded in death by his parents; and brother, Loren Coon.

Visitation will be held on Friday, January 16, 2026, from 9:00 a.m. until 11:00 a.m. at Faith Lutheran Church, 200 W. McKenzie Rd, Greenfield, IN 46140. A funeral service will be held immediately following the visitation at 11:00 a.m. Rev. Wm. Daniel O'Connor will be officiating. Burial will held at a later date at Round Lake Cemetery in Knox, IN.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made by mail to Meals on Wheels of Hancock County, or the Hancock County Humane Society. Envelopes will be available at the church.
