Obituary
Steven Henry Craft
July 24, 1956- March 2, 2026
Lifelong Big Horn Basin resident, Steven Henry Craft, age 69, shed his overworked and sick bodily tent to enter Glory on Monday evening, March 2, 2026. Following a short illness, "Henry" bid farewell to his earthly sojourn in the company of his wife and 5 children, passing from life to life with peace & joy, confident in Christ's finished work and unshakeable promise of eternal life.
"Henry" took his first breath in Worland on July 24, 1956, the third of six children born to Lloyd Donald and Elizabeth Ruth (Kaiser) Craft. His early years were spent on the farm in Manderson, as well as up at Deer Haven Lodge, Ten Sleep, a short time in Cody, Hyattville and back to Ten Sleep. Following his marriage to Sally Louise Bockman on September 4, 1987, he moved his new family to Worland where he resided throughout his remaining time on earth. Together, Steve and Sally raised five unique children: Ashley, Megan, Nicholas, Zebadiah and Joseph.
Steve graduated from Ten Sleep School in 1974 to begin a rich and rewarding work life rooted in his love of agriculture and the skills he learned growing up in a farming and small business family. Steve Henry spent time farming, truck driving, welding, mechanic-ing, building, designing, fixing, modifying, and troubleshooting in a wide variety of work settings. In December 2023 he retired from 17 years of employment at McGarvin-Moberly, only to start a new endeavor with BTC (Bulk Transport Company East/West-TFI International), helping to keep vehicles and equipment ready for service. Never too concerned with job title or status, he worked every job with the same goal in mind: giving his best effort for the success of his employer, but more importantly, for the glory of GOD.
Nothing took precedence (not even work!) over Steve Henry's love of GOD and his commitment to family and faith community. Baptized as an infant in 1957 at the Worland Methodist Church, his faith journey meandered and dead-ended along the way, until September 13, 1998, when he surrendered his life to Jesus Christ in believer's baptism at Grace Chapel Community Church. Since then, Steve has sought to be a good and faithful disciple of Jesus, fellowshipping with believers at First Baptist Church and more recently, at Mt. Calvary Church. He sought to lead his own family as a servant of Jesus and a responsible steward of the precious lives that were given to him by his Lord.
Steven Henry lived a life that reminded those around him of what truly matters. While the world often measures success by titles, wealth, and achievements, Steve believed life was meant to be lived more simply – loving family deeply, serving others quietly, and walking faithfully with Christ. He found his greater joy not in recognition or stature, but in time spent with the people he loved, lending a helping hand, and living out the call to love his neighbor as Jesus taught. His life reflected a humble faith and a servant's heart, showing the most meaningful legacy is not what we accumulate, but how we love.
Steven Henry leaves behind a family and community who were deeply blessed by his kindness, generosity, and steady devotion to the Lord. His life is a reminder to slow down, cherish one another, and pursue a life that reflects Jesus' love above all else. Though he will be deeply missed, Henry's example continues to point us toward a life centered on Jesus, and the simple enduring gifts of love and family.
The contemporary pastor and theologian, Alistair Begg, had this to say: "It is foolish to spend all of our life trying to learn how to live when we have never settled the issue of learning how to die."
He was preceded in death by his parents.
He is survived by his sons, Nicholas Craft of Worland, Zebadiah Craft of Belle Fourche, South Dakota and Joseph Craft of Worland; daughters, Ashley Morris of Mio, Michigan and Megan (Chase) Larkin of Worland; brothers, Lloyd Jr (Teri) Craft, Jeffrey (Tess) Craft, Kevin (Connie) Craft and Chris (Teresa) Craft all of Worland; sister, Vicki (Doug) Herron of Casper, Wyoming; grandchildren: Antonio, Brooks, Ezekiel, Delancy and Asher.
A celebration of life will be held at a later date in the Big Horn Mountains. Online condolences may be made at www.bryantfuneralhomeonline.com.
Steven Henry Craft learned long ago how to die well.
