Steven Preston Deitz, 72 passed away peacefully surrounded by his loving family, after a long battle with Parkinson's on Thursday July 10, 2025 at his home in Poultney. He was born in Albany, NY, April 16, 1953 the son of Raymond and Edna (Corwin) Deitz. He attended local schools and graduated in 1971. Steven spent the majority of his life in the Woodworking Industry. He had worked as a Designer for the VT Tubbs Furniture Co. Steven was an avid fisherman who had the best fish "Tales", a devoted NY Yankees, and NY Giants fan.
He was famous for his "One Liners" right up to his last days. Steven was a loving father, husband, and grandfather. He is survived by his loving wife of 21 years, Lois Deitz, His children; Kyle Deitz, Levi and Sadie Deitz, Katie and Jason Mitchell, his grandchildren; Savannah, Madison, and Bryce Mitchell; Elijah, Lina, Lenora Deitz; Kyleigh Deitz. His sisters, Cynthia Leslie, and Barbara Deitz. He was predeceased by his parents and his granddaughter, Elowen Deitz.
The memorial service "In celebration of his life" will be held on Sunday July 27th, 2025 at 3:00 PM at the Hubbardton Liberty Church, Hubbardton.
Memorial contributions in his memory may be made to the Hubbardton Liberty Church, 5877 Monument Hill Rd. Hubbardton.
Arrangements are in care of the Miller & Ketcham Funeral Home, Brandon, VT.
