Steven Deskins Obituary
Steven Avery Deskins, 53, of Ruckersville, passed away on Monday, May 24, 2010, suddenly at his home.
He was born on February 5, 1957, a son of Virginia S. Deskins and the late Avery C. Deskins.
In addition to his father, he was preceded in death by his former wife, Sharon Deskins.
Steve was a lifelong handy man. He enjoyed working with his hands. He was employed (in which he said was not a real job because he loved working as a letter carrier) by the Charlottesville United States Postal Service as a rural letter carrier. NRLCA.
Steve is survived by his mother, Virginia S. Deskins; his stepchildren, Jennifer Moore and Jason Moore; his brothers, Vandy, his wife Connie, Andy his wife JoAnn, Michael, and Mark and his wife, Marla Deskins; his sisters, Donna Mann, Patsy and her husband, Dieter Billick, and Deborah and her husband, Donald Bailey; a special friend, Dorothy Morris; and a host of nieces, nephews, other family members and friends.
A memorial service will be held 4 p.m. Saturday, June 5, 2010, at Warrenton Assembly of God, 276 Cleveland Street, Warrenton.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations be made to the American Heart Association americanheart.org.
Ryan Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.
