Susie A. Deskins

Susie Angeline Hess Deskins, age 100, of Lebanon, Virginia, passed away on Sunday, November 16, 2025. She was born in Richlands, Virginia, on November 24, 1924, the daughter of the late Tom and Sallie Hess.
She enjoyed cooking and working on the farm and she loved her family.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Larry Wilson Deskins, Sr.; daughter, Betty Sue Nash; grandson, Wilson Deskins and eight siblings. She was the last surviving member of her immediate family.
Survivors include her sons, Larry Deskins Jr. and wife Sandra of Lebanon and Johnny Deskins of Honaker, Va., seven grandchildren, several great grandchildren, numerous great-great grandchildren, one great-great-great grandchild and several other family members and special friends.
Funeral services will be held at 2 p.m. on Wednesday, November 19, 2025, in the Owens Funeral Service Chapel with Rev. Seth Shortridge and Rev. Paul Hess Jr. officiating. Interment will follow at Forest Hills Memory Gardens in Abingdon, Va.
Pallbearers will be Richard Nash, Joey Deskins, Randy Bostic, William Bostic, Daniel Alexander, and Matt Taylor.
Honorary pallbearers will be family and friends.
The family will receive friends on Wednesday at the funeral home one hour prior to the service.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the funeral home to help the family with funeral expenses.
