In Loving Memory of Steven Joseph Deutsch

It is with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of Steven Joseph Deutsch, a beloved father, grandfather, brother, and friend. Steve passed away on December 23, 2024, surrounded by his family.
Born in 1958 in St. Paul, Minnesota, Steve was raised in a close-knit family, where he developed his lifelong values of hard work, generosity, and a strong sense of humor. He attended St. Agnes High School and graduated in 1977.
Steve was an entrepreneur at heart. After high school, he founded and operated his own business, Able Rail, specializing in hand railings, which he ran successfully until his retirement in 2014. Steve's creative spirit also led him to establish Steve Deutsch Photography, where he captured cherished moments at weddings, senior portraits, wildlife settings, and school sports events.
In his retirement, Steve continued to share his skills and passions. He worked at Viking Drill and Tool, Northern Screw Machine, and Menards. His love for photography led him to travel, including taking photos for Nikon at the Summer Olympics and in Australia.
Steve found joy in the simple pleasures of life-grilling for his family, exploring the outdoors, and capturing the beauty of the world through his camera lens. His family was his pride and joy. He is survived by his father, Eugene Deutsch; his siblings, Jim (Kathy) Deutsch, Tom (Cathy) Deutsch, Mary Jo (Steve) Wolters, and Kathy (John) Knoblauch; his children, Christopher (Adria) Deutsch, Peter (Anna) Deutsch, Bridgette (Chase) Bauer, and Chloe Deutsch; and his cherished grandchildren, Ruth, Levi, Abigail, Zeah, Josiah, Amber, Azizah, and Varrick. He also leaves behind many nieces, nephews, and countless friends who were touched by his warmth and humor.
Steve was preceded in death by his mother, Rose Deutsch, and his grandparents, Marie and Michael Deutsch.
A visitation will be held at St. Rose of Lima Catholic Church in Roseville Thursday, January 9th, at 9AM, followed by a Mass of Christian Burial at 10AM. After the service, all are invited to share a meal and memories during a lunch and gathering.
Steve's legacy lives on in the countless lives he touched with his humor,his artistry and his passions. He will be deeply missed, but his memory will forever bring smiles through the stories to those who knew him. In Steve's honor, his family encourages you to gather around the dinner table, share your favorite memories, and celebrate his life.
Rest in peace, Steve. You will be missed and will always be remembered
