Steven Roger Dille, 75, of Motley, Minnesota, passed away on November 1, 2025. A visitation will be held from 4pm – 8pm on Sunday, November 9, 2025, at the Brenny Family Funeral Chapel in Staples. Services will be held 11am on November 10, 2025, with a visitation one hour prior at Motley Free Methodist Church.
Steve was born on October 25, 1950, to Roger and Judith (Lorenz) Dille in Bloomington, Minnesota. Following his graduation from high school, Steve proudly entered the United States Air Force then continued his service with both the National Guard and the Army National Guard. He dedicated over two decades to military service, retiring after 21 years of honorable duty. Steve’s dedication to the United States Armed Services never waived.
In addition to his military career, Steve worked for Trident Sea Foods and served with the Motley Fire Department. He was united in marriage to Margaret Spilman on October 30, 1989, in Staples, Minnesota. Their marriage blended seven children into an often chaotic and loud family. Steve could be found teaching his kids how to work hard and when a hug is the right medicine.
Steve was known for his love of the outdoors and had a passion for riding motorcycle, hunting, and tinkering with anything he could get his hands on outside. Above all, he cherished time spent with his grandchildren. Steve never met a sweet treat he didn’t like. Steve’s addiction to cookies and ice cream was often joked about by his entire family.
He is survived by his loving wife, Margaret Dille; children Melissa Lorenz, Christina (Donald) Rokes, John (Natalie) Tkalcich, Lori (Zacarias Gonzalez) Tkalcich, Kevin Tkalcich, and Nicholas (Lonna) Dille; 16 grandchildren and 2 great-grandchildren; his mother, Judy Dille; siblings Barbara (Mark) Dille, Lynn Myer, and Scott (Sue) Dille; as well as many nieces, nephews, and cousins.
He was preceded in death by his father, Roger Dille; daughter, Jaime Hanson; and granddaughter, Danika Tkalcich.
