Roland Edward Dille (Ron), 83 of Ogden, passed away peacefully on October 13, 2025.

Ron was born on a historic day, November 20, 1941, in Cleveland, Ohio, it was also the day and year that President Roosevelt designated as Thanksgiving Day.

He loved fishing, gardening his tomato plants, feeding the birds, and watching sports; especially his beloved Cleveland Browns and Utah Jazz. When Ron was cooking it was Cornish hens and salad. He loved History, politics, religion, and current events.

Ron grew up in Cleveland, Ohio and was a Police Officer for several years before relocating to Ogden, Utah where he worked and retired from the State of Utah.

Ron is survived by two children, daughter, JoAnn T. Ricketts, son, Troy D. Tapp (Laurie). 9 grandchildren, 22 great grandchildren. He is survived by one sister MaryEllen (Patrick) McGuire and numerous nieces and nephews.

Preceded in death was his loving wife Carolynn Rudd-Dille, his parents Herman R Dille, (UT), Helen M. Dille, (CA), sister Patricia C. Blowers (CA), and a brother Robert G. Cox (UT).

We would like to give a special thank you to his wonderful neighbors, Doug and family, and Marteen and family. Also, a special thank you to Father Cummins and Andrea and the entire staff of Hospice.

Ron, Your life was a blessing and your memory a treasure. You are loved beyond words and missed beyond measure.
