A Mass of Christian Burial for Steven "Steve" Joseph Donaldson, 69, will be held at 12:00 noon, on Thursday, October 3, 2024, at Our Lady of Perpetual Help Catholic Church, 1709 Lyttleton Street, Camden, SC. Father John Zimmerman will officiate. Memorials may be made to St. Jude Children's Research Hospital. 262 Danny Thomas Place, Memphis, TN, 38105 or stjude.com.
Steve passed away on September 26, 2024. He was born October 3, 1954, in Charlotte, NC, to the late William Joseph and Camilla Wisdom Donaldson. He was also preceded in death by his brothers Fred William Donaldson and Michael "Mike" David Donaldson.
Steve was an active member of the Boy Scouts growing up and ultimately earned the rank Eagle Scout. He earned his master's degree in Aeronautical Science from Embry-Riddle University and was a United States Air Force veteran. Some of his fondest memories and stories were about his role as a Weapons System Operator and in flying his beloved F-4 Phantom. Steve was a black belt in taekwondo and a member of the Knights of Columbus. He was an information technology specialist and the owner of Steve Donaldson Consulting.
Steve loved his daughters, son-in-law, and wife, going camping with his family, spending time with his horses, and playing Skyrim on his PS4. In fact, he loved it so much that on multiple occasions he wore out the disk and had to get a new copy of the game so he could continue playing.
Steve is survived by his wife, Margaret "Margel" Kessler Donaldson; daughters, Margaret "Meg" Donaldson Romaniello (Vince), Sarah Elizabeth Donaldson; sisters, Becky Campbell and Sherry Ann Donaldson; and many nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends.
Kornegay Funeral Home, Lugoff-Elgin Chapel, is in charge of arrangements.
