Steven A Drouin, 65, a longtime resident of Concord, died peacefully, Wednesday, March 28, 2018, with his family by his side at Hospice House after a fighting a 16 year battle with Prostate Cancer. Steven participated in many Clinical Trials & Experimental Drug trials before finally succumbing to the Cancer. He was a staunch believer in participating in anything & everything his Doctors could find for a treatment, in hopes of helping to find a cure, if not actually finding the cure. Steven was born & raised in Laconia, later moving to Concord. He is survived by his beloved wife, Jean, of 41 years; his daughter's Toni Coffin, son-in-law Christopher Coffin; Jessica Drouin, son-in-law, Michael Smith; four granddaughters, Shannon, Jenna, Rebecca, Lillian and grandson Cooper; Sister-in-law Cheryl Connor & her husband Kevin and Brother-in-law Kevin Goupil and his wife Jessica; and nephews, Brett & Cameron Clairmont, Brandon Goupil & niece Amanda Goupil. Steven graduated in 1970 from Laconia High School, worked for MAS-CON for many years as a commercial Brick Layer, received his Certification of Reiki I & Reiki II Therapist under the direction of Reiki Master, Beverly Schultz. Steven also went on to receive his Certification & License from Hesser College, to fulfill his dream of helping others by becoming a Therapeutic Massage Therapist, practicing in the Concord area and finally, in retirement working PT for the State of NH, Admin Services as a Maintenance Mechanic taking care of the "Laconia State School" grounds & buildings until he could no longer work. When Steven wasn't spending time with his grandchildren you could find him riding his Harley Davidson and when he could no longer ride his bike, you could find him traveling Maine & New Hampshire as a "weekend warrior" camping in the motorhome accompanied by his wife and longtime Therapy-Dog, Milo. A bit of irony Steven mentioned often was the fact that he worked on building the Payson Cancer Center and at the time, made the statement that he was humbled to be working on this building, but however, he hoped he would never need its services. Steven also wanted to be sure his Dr's knew what a profound impact they had on his life beginning with his diagnosis; Dr Pushkala Murali, Hitchcock Clinic, Concord; Dr Scott Fabozzi, Concord Urology; Dr Abe Morgentaler, Men's Health Boston and lastly Dr Glen Bubley, Beth Israel Deaconess Medical Center, Dr Bubley's Team Mary Ellen Morrissey, Cesar Vazquez & Joanne Pascucci. A memorial service was held at the Phaneuf Funeral Home & Crematorium Chapel, 172 King St., Boscawen on Wednesday, April 4, 2018, 1:00pm-3:00pm. In lieu of flowers, and given his passion for finding a cure for Prostate Cancer, Steven's wish was for anyone wishing to make a memorial contribution to do so to either: Prostate Cancer Research Fund, c/o Dr Glen Bubley, Beth Israel Deaconess Medical Center, 330 Brookline Ave, CLS Building 449, Boston MA 02215; OR, to Concord Regional VNA & Hospice House, the Slusser Center, 30 Pillsbury St, Concord NH 03301. His journey in life doesn't end with his passing; it will forever live on in the hearts of the ones he touched in his lifetime….
