Steven J. Duran, a proud U.S. Army veteran, passed away surrounded by the love he built throughout a life rooted in loyalty, generosity, and family. Steven lived with a deep appreciation for freedom, service, and the bonds that connect us all.

Steve is survived by his brother Michael (Roxanne) and sisters, Sarah and Diane (Jim), Phillip Duran whom he called son and Ezra Duran who called Steven Po, and was a grandfather figure to since he was born, many nieces and nephews, Godchildren, and a wide circle of friends and acquaintances who were touched by his kindness and loyalty. He was especially devoted to his dogs, who brought him constant companionship and joy.

He was preceded in death by his love of many years Louise Bernal; brothers, Nappy (Stella) Johnny (Ramona) and sisters Lillian, Martha (Props) and his beloved parents, Flora and Estevan Duran.

Steve was known for his love of Harley-Davidson motorcycles and the open road, where he found peace and a sense of independence. Music fueled his life, with the sounds of Carlos Santana holding a special place in his heart. Whether riding, listening to music, or spending time with those he loved, Steve lived life on his own terms. Family meant the world to Steve. He cared for family members through charitable acts and helped all that he could always. He found true fulfillment in helping others and was always willing to lend a hand, offer support, or share a moment of understanding. He frequently talked about his parents and brothers and sisters, not only carrying on their legacy and his deep-rooted love for them but just expressing his tremendous care for them as they impacted on his very own heart. His generosity of spirit and willingness to stand by those in need will be remembered by all who knew him.

Steve leaves behind a legacy of service, compassion and love. A life well lived and a spirit that will ride on forever. Steve will be remembered by many as he touched the lives of several that he encountered. Please remember Steve for the good that he brought into others’ lives, as well as the passion that he had for life in general.
