Steven Erkfitz Obituary

Steven J. Erkfitz, affectionately known as Steve, passed away unexpectedly on May 14, 2023, in Milwaukee, Wisconsin. Born on August 22, 1961, in Sewickley, Pennsylvania, Steve lived a life full of love, laughter, and service.
Steve will be lovingly remembered by his wife of 35 years, Sandra, and their children, Sarah (Andrew) and Katie (Alexander). He was a devoted and proud grandfather to Mason, Jackson, Evan, and Kenny. Steve is survived by his stepmother, Roberta, and siblings David (Michelle), Sandra (David), Diane, Michael, and Robert (Corine), as well as brother-in-laws Dale (Suellyn) and Paul. He will be further remembered by his nieces, nephews, and countless friends who were fortunate enough to know him. Steve is preceded in death by his parents, Robert and Marilynn, and in-laws Kenneth and Joyce.
Steve proudly served in the United States Army, demonstrating his commitment to his country and the values he held dear. Throughout his life, he was always eager to lend a helping hand and make a difference in the lives of others.
However, Steve will be most remembered for embracing his role as a loving father and grandfather. His gentle and loving nature shone through in every interaction with his family, and his funny demeanor brought smiles to the faces of all who knew him. Steve was particularly fond of bad dad jokes, a trait that endeared him to both friends and family alike.
In addition to his dedication to his family and service, Steve had a variety of interests that enriched his life and the lives of those around him. He was a man who could find joy in the simplest of things and always made an effort to share that joy with others.
Described as gentle, loving, and funny, Steve's presence will be deeply missed by all who knew him. His memory will live on in the hearts and minds of his family, friends, and all those whose lives he touched.
Private services for Steve will be arranged by his family at a later date, providing an opportunity for loved ones to come together and celebrate the life of a truly remarkable man.
In remembering Steve, let us all strive to embody the qualities that made him such a cherished presence in our lives: love, laughter, and service to others. May his memory be a blessing and an inspiration to us all.
