Leibensperger Funeral Homes, Inc. - HamburgSteven D. Frederick, 72, of Bernville, went home to be with his Lord and Savior on March 29, 2026 at home in the care of his loving wife, daughter, and grandson after a long and courageous battle with cancer.
Steve was born to the late Ralph and Elizabeth (Derstine) Frederick in Reading, PA. on March 12, 1954. As the eldest son, he grew up in Hamburg on the family farm. He attended Hamburg Area High School and graduated from Christopher Dock High School, Lansdale, in 1972. After high school, he and his wife Glenda continued in agriculture by owning, growing and operating a grain and hay farm for 38 years near Mertztown, PA. Steve was known for his hard dedicated work and always was making improvements or had a project or two in process even into his retirement years. Although not known for a lot of words, he was able to interject a slice of humor and a nugget of wisdom. Steve's Lord and Savior was his guide and strength through life. He communicated his love and care for people through word, but mostly deed.
Steve is survived by his wife, Glenda (Stauffer) Frederick, sharing 50 years of wonderful marriage, a daughter, Tanya Frederick and her partner Reilly Streeter, and a grandson, Asher Steven Frederick, of Bernville, PA, a sister, Julia (Clifford) Mease of Ephrata, PA, two brothers, Dale (Catharine) Frederick of Hamburg, PA, Ray (Susan) Frederick of Mertztown, PA.
Celebration of Life Services will be held Tuesday, April 7, 2026 at 11:00 am from The Bridge Church, 3561 Old Route 22, Hamburg, PA 19526. Burial will follow in Berks County Memorial Gardens. A viewing will be held from 10:00 to 11:00 am in the church. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions can be made to Tower Health at Home, 739 Reading Ave, West Reading, PA 19611 in memory of Steve as they provided outstanding care for 2.5 years.
