Steven Allen Gay, a simple man who enjoyed the simple things in life, passed away on Tuesday, October 14, 2025, at Ascension Sacred Heart Bay in Panama City, Florida at the age of 67. Born on October 6, 1958, in Port St. Joe, Florida, he was a lifelong resident of the area, cherished for his warm spirit and gentle nature.

Steven dedicated many years to working at the local Piggly Wiggly, where he served as a stocker until his retirement. He was a devoted member of the community, proudly serving for a long time on the Highland View Volunteer Fire Department, a testament to his commitment to helping others.

He enjoyed life's little pleasures, often found sitting on the porch, taking in the fresh air and watching oldies on TV. Steven lived a life that celebrated the beauty of simplicity.

He also leaves behind a host of nieces and nephews, whom he never had children of his own but viewed as his kids, sharing in their joys and milestones.

Steven was preceded in death by his maternal and paternal grandparents, as well as his parents, Ben Gay and Avis Watson Gay.

A graveside service will be held in his honor  at 1:00 P.M. Eastern Time on Tuesday, October 21, 2025, at Holly Hill Cemetery in Port St. Joe, Florida with Pastor Glenn Davis officiating.
