Steven Wayne "Steve" Green Sr.

Mr. Steven Wayne "Steve" Green, Sr., 82, of Fort Lawn passed away Monday, January 19, 2026 at his home. He was born October 1, 1943 in Rock Hill, a son of the late Harry Albert Green, Sr. and Violet Faye Nichols Green. Mr. Green worked in the construction industry for many years, specializing in dry wall and painting. He was a founding member of New Hope Baptist Church – Rock Hill for over 40 years and served as deacon under every pastor. Many of those years he served as Chairman of the Deacons. He later became a member of Emmanuel Baptist Church – Fort Lawn. Mr. Green enjoyed hunting, fishing and spending time with his grandchildren.

A service to celebrate the life of Mr. Green will be held Wednesday, January 21, 2026 at 2 p.m. at Emmanuel Baptist Church with the Rev. Rick Kirchinger officiating.

Mr. Green is survived by his wife, Joyce Williams Green of Fort Lawn; a son, Steven Wayne Green, Jr. (Crystal) of Fort Lawn; two daughters, Melissa Herring (Rocky) of Rock Hill and Susan McWatters (Kem) of Fort Lawn; two sisters, Mary Nichols of Clover and Barbara Burgess of Columbia; nine grandchildren, Brittany, Jordan, Stevie, Owen, Emily, Baylee, Tanner, Steven and Joel; seven great-grandchildren, Cameron, Braxton, Drennon, Blake, Dawson, Reagan and Ashlynn; and one great-great grandchild, Caroline. He was preceded in death by two brothers, H. A. Green, Jr. and Wesley Nicholas Green.

The family will receive friends from 1 p.m. until 2 p.m. Wednesday, January 21, 2026 at Emmanuel Baptist Church – Fort Lawn.
