Steven Grimes Obituary

Obituary published on Legacy.com by James A. Dyal Funeral Home on Jan. 8, 2026.
Steven "Repo" Grimes, 31, passed away on January 7, 2026, leaving behind a life remembered for its intensity and love for the fast lifestyle. He was born on July 13, 1994, in Aransas Pass, Texas, to Jimmie James Martin and Anne Sellers.

Steven grew up in Jedburg, South Carolina, and later graduated from Summerville High School. From an early age, he was known for his adventurous spirit and his love of speed. Steven lived life in the fast lane, always drawn to anything that went fast, especially motorcycles and trucks, which were among his greatest passions. He had a deep love for animals, especially his dog. Steven was also proud of his work ethic and accomplishments, earning an electrical certification and working as a journeyman electrician. Free-spirited and unapologetically himself, Steven lived life on his own terms. He will be remembered for his energy, his fearless approach to life, and the unmistakable presence he carried wherever he went. Though his time was far too short, the memories he created will live on in the hearts of those who knew and loved him.

He is survived by his loving son, Mason Grimes and Bryn Grimes, who was passed; his loving parents: Anne Sellers (Rory) and Jimmie James Martin (Heather); his siblings: Walker Martin (Brianna), Austin Grimes, Ashley Waggener, and Charles Waggener; his great niece, Hallie Dangerfield; his nieces and nephews: Ian Dangerfield, Nate Dangerfield, Cam Dangerfield, Gracie Dangerfield, and Lucas Saunders; his aunts: Sarah Nunnally and Gina King; as well as his grandparents: Joyce Babcock and Bubba Leflett.

A visitation of family and friends will be held on Saturday, January 10, 2026, from 6pm to 8pm at James A. Dyal Funeral Home. A graveside service will be held at Plantation Memorial Gardens on Sunday, January 11, 2026, at 11:00am.
