STEVEN HALVORSON

STEVEN HALVORSON 01/30/1947 - 09/08/2025 Steven Halvorson, 78, of Granite Falls passed away on Monday, September 8, 2025, at his home. A Celebration of Life will be held on Saturday, September 20 at 1 p.m. at Wing-Bain Funeral Home in Granite Falls. Visitation will be held one hour prior to services at the funeral home. Steven John Halvorson was born January 30, 1947, the son of Melford and Dorothy (Knutson) Halvorson in Granite Falls. He was baptized and confirmed in the Lutheran faith. Steve graduated from Granite Falls High School in 1965. He continued his education in St. Cloud and later attended the vo-tech in Granite Falls. Steve was united in marriage with Linda Tusberg on August 24, 1968, at Our Saviors Lutheran Church in Montevideo. He was drafted into the United States Army in November of 1968. He was honorably discharged and worked for Milwaukee Railroad in Minneapolis. The family moved to Luverne where he worked for the City of Luverne for five years. They moved back to the Granite Falls area when he took over farming for his father. He also worked for Hasslen Construction Company out of Ortonville. Steve enjoyed bowling and golfing in his younger years and looked forward to hunting with family and friends over the years. He is survived by his wife Linda, two sons: Troy Halvorson of Granite Falls and Kevin (Katie) Halvorson of Pequot Lakes; three granddaughters: Haley, Samantha and Charlotte; sister Bev Prenevost of Le Sueur and extended family and friends. He was preceded in death by his parents and brother Lowell.
