Steven Head Obituary

Obituary published on Legacy.com by Hauser Weishaar Funeral Home on Jan. 30, 2026.
Steven "Steve" Head, 58, of Charles City, passed away Thursday, January 29, 2026.

A funeral service will be held at 11:30 a.m. Saturday, February 7, 2026, at Hauser Weishaar Funeral Home. Burial will follow at Sunnyside Memory Gardens in rural Charles City.

Visitation will be held from 5:00 to 7:00 p.m. Friday, February 6, 2026, at Hauser Weishaar Funeral Home and continue one hour prior to the service on Saturday.

Steven "Steve" Scott Head, the son of Charles Head I and Kathryn (Oudekerk) Head, was born May 26, 1967, in Oskaloosa, Iowa. He received his education through the Charles City Public Schools. He was united in marriage to Jessica Peterson and the couple later separated.

Steve was a Jack of all trades. Over the years he was a mechanic, worked as a construction foreman, helped out with Becker Home Improvements, worked for his special friend Dennis Tynan, was a great welder and finally was able to do his dream job of driving big rigs.

Steve was loved by many, and he could always bring a good laugh to any situation. He was very outspoken on things he felt passionate about, especially those old items that others may not see any value in. Nothing could be thrown away. Steve loved Chevy's, loved his family and would do anything for them (or anyone else for that matter).

Steve enjoyed riding bikes, collecting all sorts of items, building cars and motorcycles, but most importantly he treasured time spent with his family, especially his kids and grandkids.

Living family members include his sister, Shelly Head; Jessica (Peterson) Head; his children: Scott (Emily) Head, Michael Foster, Brent Foster, Charles Head and Maggie Head; grandchildren: Kaydn Sorenson, Eastan Head, Haven Head, Dominic Kruger, Cameron Head, Bennett Head, Madelyn Head, Kyvrik Foster, Araynna Foster and Emberlynn Foster; special friend, Joy Foster; and nephew, Jason Head.

Steve was preceded in death by Kathryn Head, Charles Head I, David Head, Kathleen Head and Ashley Head.
