Steven Perry Jacobson (74) of Cameron, (formerly Eau Claire) passed away peacefully at home with his loving wife, Juanita, by his side on April 6th 2025. Born to George and Eunice (Kahl) Jacobson on March 13th 1951. He was 3rd of 4 children, raised alongside his sisters, Connie, Sue, and Debbie in Eau Claire. Steve was a spirited child, and spoke fondly of his younger years of riding his dirt bike and being chased by farmers on their tractors. After attending North High School, where he was on Varsity teams for wrestling and football and graduating class of 1970, he began employment at Uniroyal, where he worked hard for the next 25 years, until its closure. Soon after Uniroyal shutdown, he enrolled in CVTC to study carpentry and CDL training, working various jobs until his retirement. Steve married Karen McElwaine in 1977. Together they had 4 children, Clayton, Joshua, Tracy, and Casey. As a father, Steve gave unwavering support and endless love to his children. Always having been very family oriented, he had deep bonds with his mother, sisters, and children. Weekends were often spent together, either boating and swimming on the Chippewa River or camping in Chetek, where he passed his knowledge of hunting, fishing, and driving on and off the road, to his children. He created many fond memories, and even kept exotic pets (a Shetland named Jimmy, Rheas, and catfish that Clay caught to name a few). Steve was a wild man at heart, full of life, and just being in his presence could be an experience in itself. He loved to share his many interests with loved ones including fast cars, motorcycles, karaoke, painting, cooking, and gardening. He especially cherished the water, and had a great fondness for the Chippewa river and Lake Chetek specifically, but it didn't matter! If there was water nearby, he would be in it! Steve married Juanita DeMars on June 22nd, 2013 and they spent a total of 14 wonderful years together, enjoying their many hobbies, spending time with each other and loved ones, and traveling the world together, ultimately retiring to Cameron. Steve was a loving father and brother, a devoted husband, and a loyal friend. He was known for having a kind and giving heart, and was always doing what he could for others. Steve was strong in his faith until the very end, and was dedicated to his church. Steve's loving spirit is carried on by his wife, Juanita Jacobson; sisters, Connie (Ronnie) Lund, Sue (Phil) Fabry; children, Clayton Jacobson, Joshua (Alex) Jacobson, Tracy Jacobson (Joshua Lillie) and Casey (Sarah) Jacobson; stepchildren, Santiago DeMars and Celina (Jess) Mattice; grandchildren, Taylor, Josie, Abbie, Dominic, Ari, Finn, Dillion, Arianna, Gray, Greta and Colton; and many nieces, nephews, and cousins. Steve is now reunited with his mother, Eunice Westland; father, George Jacobson; sister, Debbie (Gus) Strehlo, and his step-father, Marshall Nogle in Heaven. Funeral proceedings will be held at The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, Barron Ward on May 10, 2025 at 11:00 a.m., with a luncheon directly after services. The address is 644 South 6th Street in Barron. A Celebration of Steve's life will be held on June 15, 2025 at the Riverview Island Pavilion from 1:00 until 7:00 p.m. The address for that is 2712 Riverview Drive in Eau Claire. Arrangements are being handled by Rausch and Steel Funeral Home in Barron. Online condolences can be made at www.rauschandsteelfuneralhome.com.
