Wilmington, NC: Mr. Steven Shelton Johnson, age 69, formerly of Four Oaks, passed away peacefully on Wednesday, October 30, 2024 at Lower Cape Fear LifeCare Center in Wilmington. Funeral Services will be held at 2:00PM on Wednesday, November 6, 2024 at Rose & Graham Funeral Home in Four Oaks. Pastor Michael Johnson will officiate. Burial will follow in Hills of the Neuse Memorial Gardens in Smithfield.
Steve was born on October 12, 1955 in Washington D.C., to the late Shelton McIver Johnson and Harriet Betty Pixton Johnson. Along with his parents Steve was preceded in death by his daughter, Michelle Johnson. Steve was a man of God who loved to work with his hands as a life long carpenter. Steve loved the water, having lived and worked by the beach for over three decades. Steve loved to sail and found the most joy in helping others. But his greatest love was his family.
Surviving includes his children; Pastor Michael Johnson and wife, Christi, Kimberly Johnson, Shelton Johnson II and Emily Cox; grandchildren, Jude Johnson, Eden Johnson, Asa Johnson and Zion Johnson; sister, Carol Arnold along with the children’s mothers, Laura Sauls and Susan Johnson.
The family will receive friends on Wednesday, November 6 from 12:30PM to 1:45PM at the Rose & Graham Funeral Home in Four Oaks.
