Steven Johnson Obituary
Steve was born in Fort Worth, Texas, on August 19, 1956. He graduated from TCU and went on to complete his medical education in osteopathic medicine at TCOM. He proudly served in the United States Army before beginning his medical career as an internal medicine physician alongside his father at Hampton Clinic.
Steve met his wife, Laura, and together they had a daughter, Kaity, who continued the family legacy as the third generation to practice medicine at Hampton Clinic. Steve had a deep love for golf, fishing, and travel. He cherished the patients he cared for and faithfully served his community for over 35 years. He was dearly loved by his coworkers and friends.
Steve was an amazing father, brother, son, and husband, but the most important part of his life was his love for his Savior, Jesus Christ. His faith was an inspiration to all who knew him, and his life reflected that devotion in every relationship.
He was preceded in death by his mother, Sofie Johnson.
Steve is survived by his beloved wife, Laura; his daughter, Kaity Odom; his son-in-law, Jacob Odom; his father, Jim Johnson; his sisters, Brigitte McClellan (Landon), Patricia Albus, and Jennifer Sumrall (Scott); and many much-loved extended family members.
He was deeply loved and will be tremendously missed.

Dr. Johnson helped my brothers and me care for our mom with such compassion and dedication. His passing has truly broken our hearts. He was a big part of our family, and we miss him dearly.
The Correa family sends our deepest condolences, love, and spiritual comfort to the Johnson family and to all those he worked alongside. He was truly a staple in our community. I didn´t even realize how many people around us had him as their doctor until now; neighbors, friends, and others who spoke so highly of him and shared how much they trusted and valued his care. Dr Johnson was a wonderful doctor. I was blessed to have him as one of my doctors at Hampton Clinic. I was even treated by his dad. I can truly say that he literally saved my life.
In 2012 I had gone to the emergency for headaches that I had never ever experienced before. I was told that I had female issues and to see my regular doctor. The next day I saw Dr Johnson and told him what had happened and said that I felt like my head was going to explode. He lightly laughed and assured me that he had never heard of anyone's head exploding.
He listened to my heart and realized that he could not hear my heart on the right side. He referred me a specialist immediately, Dr Feldman, who saw me the next day. After seeing him and informing me that I had 90% blockage on my right side and would die. Needless to say I had the surgery the next day.
I can truly say that without Dr Johnson's care, I wouldn't be alive today.
My deepest deepest condolences to his wife and daughter, whom I am blessed to say she is my doctor.

I´m so sad to hear this news. Dr. Johnson was absolutely the best! He always genuinely cared and never made me feel rushed. He sincerely listened and even had the gift to make me laugh. I was asymptomatic, but Dr. Johnson heard a heart murmur. He then sent me onto the cardiologist,which ultimately ended up with me having open heart surgery. And because of this, I am alive and grateful.They don´t make doctors like him anymore. Dr. Johnson, you definitely will be missed.

Dr.Steve was so kind and caring, he wasn't the type of doctor to start writing prescription as soon as the patient started talking, he would sit down listen to what you have to say,do an examination then go from there. You can tell he really love the Lord because he loved and care for all he patients no matter what the color of their skin or nationality. I am so sad to hear of his passing .I know that Katie and the other doctors will continue to offer exceptional care.

Dr Steven Johnson, was a very good doctor, who was compassionate, knowledgeable and who listened carefully to the needs of patients, He exuded warmth and kindness! If it wasn´t for Dr Steven Johnson, my husband´s aneurysms may not have been caught in time! I also became his patient, and he was very special to our family! We will always be grateful to him! Our Condolences and Prayers to his entire Family
Heartbreaking and Sadness in our Hearts. He was such a caring and loving Doctor always greeting his patiences with a smile and joking around to make us feel good. My husband was always telling him I hurt here and there and Dr. Johnson with a smile, would reply back to him and with his famous words, he would say it´s just like having a new car and years go buy your start having problems with it, things start falling apart and you fix it then another issue comes along etc. So he said our body is the same way once we get older things happen to our body, that was his way of explaining some things, so we could understand what can happen in the future. We loved and trusted Doctor Steven Johnson who had been our doctor for over 30 years. Our caring Doctor and Friend, we will miss You dearly. I know we will see you again when the time comes.

Dr Johnson was my doctor for over thirty years. I was very shocked to hear of his passing. So kind and patience even knowing I was stubborn and was not good at taking my medication correctly. The world has lost a great man. He will be greatly missed.

We were so very saddened to hear this news. Dr Johnson has been our family physician for over 30 years. He was always so kind and we never felt rushed when we came for an office visit. I know that he is in heaven and we will see him again but we will certainly miss his kind and compassionate care. We are praying for his family and all the staff in the office.

He has been our whole family doctor for over 30 years. I find out out yesterday when I made an appointment with him or his daughter. Dr. Steven D. Johnson in my humble opinion was the best internal medicine doctor in Dallas.
Always in good spirits. I saw his daughter on November 4th for the first time. I saw him and gave him a hug. I told him your daughter is very smart and kind like you. He said Marita she is smarter than me and you are in very good hands with her.
My family and I were devastated with his passing.

Hampton Road Medical Clinic was our go to doctor growing up. Dr. J. D.
delivered my daughter.
My Dad (a long haul trucker) and Dr. J.D seemed like best buds instead of doctor-patient relationship. Mrs
Johnson would bug them about it. That is how the office worked over there. FAMily Style.
When he retired and Dr. Steve took
over, naturally we remained. What can I say about Dr. Steve: he was patient, kind and would make eye to eye contact with you and really listen. He would talk about his daughter. Short version: he discovered a problem with my heart at age 40, quickly got me into a heart doctor two or three days later, stressing the urgency. My heart doctor called in a Pediatric Heart Surgeon out of Philadelphia that said if Dr. Steve Johnson "had not been at the top of his game", that I would not have survived what was forthcoming. So, Dr. STEVE IS MY REAL LIFE HERO. May he rest in peace. I want to express my condolences to his family.
