Steven Koxlien Obituary

Obituary published on Legacy.com by Shadel's Colonial Chapel - Lebanon on Aug. 15, 2024.
STEVEN "STEVE" JEROME KOXLIEN, sixty-six of Lebanon, Missouri died at his home on Monday, August 12, 2024.
Steve was born in Black River Falls, Wisconsin on September 20, 1957. He lived in Taylor, Wisconsin for eighteen years before joining the military. He served in the United States Army for twenty years and was a member of Veterans of Foreign Wars. During his military career Steve's assignments took him to Washington, New York, Alaska, Missouri and two assignments in Germany. Steve was very proud of his time in the service and the bonds he built with fellow soldiers.
After retirement, he began a second career as a Quality Safety Manager in the construction field that kept him busy traveling to other states for projects. He retired in March of 2020. He looked forward to slowing down and traveling less.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Basil and Verna Koxlien, one infant child, Veronica, and his sister, Karen Dolsey.
He is survived by his wife, Susan Koxlien of Lebanon, MO; three daughters, Stephanie Costello of Rolla, MO; step-daughters, Becky Austin of West Point, MS and Lisa Arroya of Springfield, MO; one son, Sean Koxlien of Bermas, NY. In addition, he is survived by his five siblings: two brothers, Michael Koxlien of Taylor, WI, Duane Koxlien of Dalton Gardens, ID; three sisters, Cindi Shepardson of Whitefish Bay, WI, Shiela Nelson of Blue River, WI and Barbara Loomis of Black River Falls, WI; eight grandchildren; numerous nieces and nephews; other relatives and many friends.
Being around family and friends was important to him. Spending time with his grandchildren made him feel young and gave him much joy. He looked forward to time spent with his nephews as there was always laughter and great story telling.
Steve loved fishing, hunting and just being in nature. Woodworking was his favorite hobby and he found it to be very rewarding.
Steve was a loving and caring husband, father and grandfather and will be missed by all. Though he is gone, he will never be forgotten.
