Steven William "Steve" Kulich

Steven William Kulich, 72, of Benton Harbor, passed away peacefully on Monday, September 29, 2025, at Memorial Hospital in South Bend, IN. He was born June 5, 1953, in Saint Joseph, MI to William and LaVerne (Gietersonke) Kulich.

Born and raised in Southwest Michigan, Steve used his love of the area to build a successful real estate business operating alongside his wife, for many years. In his younger years, Steve was a golf professional at Point O' Woods Golf and Country Club. He truly loved the game, golfing for many years in leagues at Blossom Trails, but especially enjoyed playing with his wife. He had a soft spot for animals, planning multiple golf benefits for the Southwest Michigan Humane Society. He also helped his fellow realtors by establishing and supporting the HELP association, an organization that still benefits from his golf outings to this day. Despite suffering a debilitating stroke in 2014, Steve never lost his warm smile and positive outlook on life.

Steve will be missed by his loving wife and partner, whom he married on May 31, 1989 in Las Vegas, NV, Candy (Cooke) Kulich; his son and bonus children, Kip (Kelly) Kulich, Robert (Bonnie) Dubman, Allana (Adam) Rennick, and David Dubman; his grandchildren, Bailey and Megan Kulich, Aiden, Grace, Amelia, and Rowan Dubman, and Averey Rennick; and his sister, Carole (John) Schaeffer.

He is preceded in death by his parents.

A celebration of Steve's life will be held at Blossom Trails Golf Club on a later date for family and close friends. Candy will share details once the family finalizes the plans.

With Steve's love of golf, he coordinated and raised money annually through the Southwestern Michigan Association of REALTORS golf outing. Steve had the vision of creating a Foundation to help local families and with that dream, the REAL Help Foundation was founded in 2014. Since then, through an annual Golf, Bowling and Holiday Auction Event, The REAL Help Foundation has helped 99 Southwest Michigan families with over $160,000. In lieu of flowers the family ask that memorial contributions be given to the REAL Help Foundation in Steve's honor.
