Steven Lee Kuntz, a beloved husband, father, brother, and friend passed away on October 11, 2024, at his home in Clarksville, Indiana. He was born on April 12, 1959, in Jeffersonville, Indiana.
Steve had a particularly undeniable skill in restoring old cars. Despite his occasional complaints about the hard work involved, it was evident to all that every rev of the engine brought him pure joy and satisfaction. This love for restoration was matched only by his enthusiasm for watching races at the Sportsdrome Speedway, where he could often be found cheering on his favorite drivers or reminiscing about his own experiences in motorsports. He also never passed on an opportunity to watch Grindhouse wrestling in Jeffersonville
He is survived by his devoted wife of 25 years, Rose Kuntz, whose love has been a constant source of strength and support throughout their journey together. Their children, Samantha Cochran, Jeffrey Cochran, Eric Fox, and Kanton Fox, were always the pride and joy of his heart. Steve is also survived by his beloved sister, Sharon Haydon; and his nieces and nephews, Sherry Haydon Blanton, Jasmine Haydon, Larry Kuntz, Mike Kuntz, Scott Kuntz, Johnny Haydon and Jerry Kuntz.
Steve's legacy is forever intertwined with the memories of those who have passed before him, including his loving parents, Carl Kuntz and Juanita Denton Kuntz; his brothers, Larry Kuntz, Rick Kuntz, and Jerry Kuntz; and his nephew, James "Jamie" Haydon IV.
Steve Kuntz was a man who lived life to the fullest, pouring love into his family, finding purpose in restoration of cars and motorcycles, and embracing the thrill of the race. His absence is felt deeply by all whose lives he touched, and while his presence is no longer visible, the memories he created will endure in the hearts of those he loved.
