Steven Ernest Larvie, 25, passed away on September 12th of 2025 in Rapid City South Dakota. Steven was born in Sioux Falls South Dakota, to Jaquline and Fredrick Larvie on December 12th in 1999.
Steven was known to be giving to anyone who was in need. He passionately loved to sing karaoke, dance and write poetry. His hobbies included traveling, festivals, living room raves, being in nature and taking photographs of the beautiful things. He was always known for his abstract fashion and had the most contagious laughter and loved to share it with people.
He is survived by his grandfather, Sylvester Larvie; his mother and father, Jaquline and Fredrick Larvie; his siblings, Trenton McClintock, Jesse Kordonowy, and Jacinta Lower; nieces and nephews, Aurora McClintock, Dean Kordonowy, Aurthur McClintock, Ernest Lower, Jasper Kordonowy, Urijah Lower, Audrina McClintok, Malcolm Kordonowy, and Uilliam Lower; and many aunts, uncles and cousins.
Steven was preceded in death by Tammy Rosales, Suzanna Lewis, Joyce and Russell Kordonowy and Peggy Little.
To Those Attending Services for Steven,
Steven was, and always will be, our son. Though we will never again hear his voice or see him walk through the door, we know without a doubt that he loved us deeply. He had a good, kind, and loving heart. This loss is unbearable for his dad and me, and for our family, because it's not supposed to be this way. No parent should have to endure this. We are taking things one second at a time, doing our best to honor him in the way we believe he would have wanted.
While Steven struggled, especially with drinking, we ask that no one attend his services or viewing under the influence of alcohol or any hard drugs. If you cannot come sober, please do not come. You will be turned away. This is not about judgment; it's about protecting the sacredness of this moment and guarding his soul from further harm. We believe that in his most vulnerable moments, darkness took advantage of his pain. We will not allow that same energy into the space where we say goodbye. If you choose to ignore this request, know that you are not only going against our wishes, but also against what we believe Steven would want. We understand that grief looks different for everyone, and we hold space for that, but please do not bring it into this gathering in a way that disrespects him or his family.
Thank you for your understanding.
Pallbearers will be Jesse Kordonowy, Trenton McClintock, Trevaun Taken, Joseph Jenkins, Dustin Lower, Elias Jesperson, Nicklaus Adams, & Anivar Villalpando.
Honorary pallbearers will be All Friends & Relatives.
