Steve passed away January 11, 2026 after a long battle with his health. Steve was born July 3, 1953 in Boston to Jason and Edith Marshall. Steve enjoyed playing ice hockey and playing horn in drum and bugle corps. He attended Northeast Regional Technical High School where he studied auto mechanics and met his beloved wife Betsy Leland.

Steve and Betsy enlisted in the US Airforce after high school. Steve was deployed to Guam during the Vietnam War and rejoined Betsy at Lackland AFB in Texas where they were married.

Steve and Betsy were transferred to Lakenheath, England where they continued their military service and became parents to their daughter Jennifer in 1975. One of Steve’s fond memories was hosting his parents visit to England and Ireland and celebrated Jennifer’s baptism together.

The family was next stationed at Loring AFB in Maine where their son Steven Jr. was born and they honorably discharged in 1977.

Steve settled the family in Malden MA, close to their extended family. Steve worked as a Diesel Mechanic at Boston Fuel Transportation Company. The family relocated to Orlando Florida in 1992. Steve began work at SeaWorld Orlando and after working in a few roles became a water quality specialist maintaining the water and tanks throughout the park. Steve retired from Sea World in 2017 and enjoyed family time especially holidays with his grandson Charlie and having special moments together at Kennedy Space Center.

Steve spent hours building models of aircraft and automotive replicas that he proudly displayed with his collection of air and space memorabilia. Steve was an avid sports fan and especially loved following ice hockey and football. Steve and Betsy made home to many rescue pets and fish over the years including 5 labs and many cats, he is missed by his 2 cats Carmie and Adella.
