Steven John McDaniel, "Squig", passed away on Sunday, September 7, 2025 at the age of 55. He was born in Muskegon, Michigan on May 7, 1970 to Joseph and MariRose McDaniel, and worked in the trades industry all his life. Squig was a loving, caring, smart, silly, tye-dye wearing man who was passionately stubborn. Being straightforward, he never made you question what he was thinking. Preferring to smoke his greens instead of eating them, this fueled his love for sweets, and he was rarely ever seen without some chocolatey breakfast treats. He had a plethora of useless knowledge, and a playful mischievous nature that loved a good prank, joke, or jump scare. Squig loved the outdoors, The Grateful Dead, Dave Matthews Band, his dogs, his friends, and his family. All of them holding a special place in his heart and soul. We feel truly blessed to have had Squig in our lives and he will be greatly missed every day. Squig is survived by his mother MariRose, his wife Tammy, his sons Joshua and Mason (Veronica), his 6 siblings, his nieces and nephews and all their significant others. A Celebration of Life will be held in his honor on Saturday, September 20th, from 1 to 4 PM at The Fraternal Order of the Eagles #668, 621 West Western Ave, Muskegon, Michigan, 49440. Arrangements handed by The Sytsema Chapel of Sytsema Funeral & Cremation Services, 737 Apple Avenue, Muskegon, MI 49442. Sign the online guestbook at https://www.sytsemafh.com
