Steven W. Morgan

Steven William Morgan, 68, of Clinton, MA, passed away peacefully at home on December 7, 2024 after a hard fought battle with cancer. Born on November 2, 1956, Steve was the son of the late William and Carole (Chadwick) Morgan. He was raised in Maynard, MA, with his siblings, sister, Kim Morgan and brother, Paul Morgan. From a young age, Steve developed a love for sports, playing hockey and baseball throughout his childhood, and became a lifelong avid fan of Boston sports teams.
Steve was a proud New Englander, especially passionate about the New England Patriots and Boston Red Sox. His home was always filled with excitement on game days, as he and his wife hosted countless Super Bowl parties and gatherings to cheer on his team. His love for sports extended beyond watching games. He cherished time spent fishing, golfing, and summers up in Maine.
Steve was a dedicated family man, married to his beloved wife, Mary Lou (Symes), for 43 years. Together, they raised three children in Maynard: son Sean Morgan and wife Pamela of Clinton, MA; daughter Kara (Morgan) Cady and husband Charlie of Hudson, MA; and daughter Dana (Morgan) McDevitt and husband Sean of Northbridge, MA. Steve was predeceased by an infant son, Michael Morgan. His love for family was also reflected in his role as a proud grandfather to four grandchildren: William, Kaylee, Lillian, and Evelyn. Steve was a devoted father and never missed a game, dance recital, birthday, or important event in the lives of his children and grandchildren.
Steve worked for many years as a software engineer, contributing his talents to several companies over his career. Though he had a successful professional life, his greatest joy came from the time he spent with his family and friends. His warmth, humor, and lively spirit will be deeply missed by all who knew him.
Steve is survived by his wife, children, grandchildren, siblings, as well as many nieces and nephews, and loving extended family. His legacy of love, laughter, courage and devotion will continue to live on in the hearts of those who had the privilege of knowing him.
A visitation will be held at the Acton Funeral Home, 470 Massachusetts Avenue (Rt 111), Acton on Monday, December 16, 2024 from 4-7 PM. A graveside service will take place Tuesday, December 17, 2024 at 10 AM at Glenwood Cemetery, Maynard.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Jimmy Fund in Steve's honor.
