We mourn the loss of Steven Dawane Newkirk II, born March 13, 1995, in Buffalo NY and passed away on Monday, December 18, 2023, in Jacksonville FL after suffering a brief illness.
Steven was a beloved son, brother, grandson, and friend. He leaves behind his mother, Venus Perry and father, Steven Sr.; sisters, Dianna Lane, Dasia Floyd, Laquisha, Teeanna, Destiny, Serenity, Shamiyah, and Sonia Moore; brothers, Andre Floyd, Quincy Floyd, Joaquin, Phillip Moore, and Shareef McLeod; grandmother, Daisy; as well as a host of aunts, uncles, cousins, nieces, and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his grandmother, Cynthia Ann Stallworth; great grandmother, Dorothy Mae Stallworth; and great grandfather, Arthur Kendrick.
Steven was a skillful IT Technician who had a passion for new and upcoming technology and computer science. Steven joined the United States Army and served his country in May of 2017 and was Honorably discharged in October of 2018 after suffering a hip injury.
He enjoyed building and playing with gaming computers, customizing, and rebuilding his motorcycle in his leisure time, and tinkering with model cars and planes as a hobby. He was an avid animal lover and a cat dad to his beloved black cat affectionately named Elon.
Steven was a kind and intelligent gentle giant standing at 6'4. He was always willing to lend a helping hand to those in need. He was loved by all who knew him and will be deeply missed by his family and friends.
