Steven Ogden

Steven Duane Ogden, known affectionately as Steve or "Teba" to his close friends and family, embarked on his final adventure on April 17, 2025, at the age of 62. Born on a sunny spring day in 1963 in Battle Creek, Michigan, Steve's journey came full circle as he peacefully passed away in the very place he first called home.
Steve was the kind of guy who could coax a smile out of a statue. His passion for life was as infectious as his love for the great outdoors. An auto mechanic by trade, Steve could build or fix anything that came his way. His hands were rarely clean, but his heart always was. He lived by the motto that if something was broken, it was an opportunity to put his skills to the test, not a reason to buy a new one.
He leaves behind a garage full of memories and a family who adored him. Though his parents, Raymond and Shirley Ogden, and his brother, Joe, had previously taken their own rides into the sunset, Steve's stories and laughter will continue to echo through the lives of his beloved wife, Nora, his supportive sisters, Rosalee Holt and Gloria Tredwell, and his stepchildren, Aaron, Brandon, Kailynn, and Jessie Brininstool, who could always count on him for sage advice and the occasional dad joke.
Steve's love for fishing, hunting, motorcycles, cars, and anything that allowed him to bask in the glory of nature was only matched by his talent for woodworking. He crafted many a masterpiece, each infused with the same care and dedication he devoted to his relationships. His nephews and nieces knew Uncle Steve as the wise-cracking mentor who could spin a yarn as skillfully as he could a fishing reel.
Friends will fondly recall Steve's humorous outlook on life, often sharing laughs over a cold one or exchanging banter by the campfire. He was the epitome of a man who lived life to the fullest, with a wrench in one hand and a fishing rod in the other. His wisdom was only outmatched by his humor, and he lived by the words of the beloved comedian Robin Williams: "You're only given a little spark of madness. You mustn't lose it."
Steve's departure has left us with a treasure trove of tales and a blueprint on how to embrace life's simple pleasures. He taught us that life doesn't have to be perfect to be wonderful, and that a day without laughter is a day wasted. Though he may have ridden off into the sunset, his legacy will continue to rev its engines in the hearts of all who knew him.
