Steven G. Ortiz was born on January 9, 1956, in Fort Hood, Texas, to Leonard and Lily Ortiz. He grew up with his three siblings, Catherine, Daniel, and Patricia, in
Albuquerque, New Mexico. After graduating from high school, Steven joined the United States Air Force and was honorably discharged.
In 1981, Steven married the love of his life, Susan. The two met while serving in the Air Force in Okinawa, Japan. Their love carried them through 45 years of life together. Steven and Susan were blessed with four children, and in later years, his love extended to his cherished grandchildren.
In 1995, he began his new career working for the Corpus Christi Army Depot, where he dedicated 27 years of service. His life was shaped by his devotion to God, his service to his country, and his enduring love for his family.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Leonard and Lily Ortiz; his sister, Catherine Hall, and her husband, Al Hall: daughter, Catherine Ortiz. and son Steven Ortiz Jr. He is now reunited with them in God's care.
Steven is lovingly remembered by his family, who will honor and cherish his memory: his wife, Susan Ortiz; his children, Stephanie Garcia, Michael Ortiz, Kimberlee Ortiz, Amberlee Ortiz; and his daughters-in-law, Jessica Ortiz and Holly Ortiz. His grandchildren, Liliana, Arthur, Alexia, Jasmine, Kristen, Adriana, and Sonja. His brother, Daniel; his sister, Patricia; and his siblings' children, Daniel, Rachelle, and Dani, as well as the children of his heart, including Michael Comer, Anthony Trimarchi, Matt Harjus, and Samantha Liszewski.
We take comfort in the promise that we will one day be reunited with Steven. Until then, his memory will live in our hearts, and we will remember his favorite words: "God bless."
