Steven W. Ramsier

Steven W. Ramsier, age 71, of Sterling, passed away peacefully on Monday morning, May 23, 2022, at the Apostolic Christian Home in Rittman, following a period of declining health.
Steve was born on September 9, 1950, in Wadsworth, Ohio, to the late Nelson and Aldine (Gasser) Ramsier and graduated from Rittman High School with the class of 1968. He married Karen Sue Baisden on December 11, 1971, in Rittman, and they have been happily married for over 50 years.
He was a lifelong farmer, working at the family dairy farm just outside of Rittman. Farming was not only a career for Steve, but was a hobby as well. He truly enjoyed working in the fields and in the shop. Earlier in his life, he also worked with his Uncle Bert at Albert Gasser Masonry. He also was a machine operator and mechanic at Zollinger Sand and Gravel for several years.
Steve was baptized and became a member of the Rittman Apostolic Church on July 15, 1973. He enjoyed classic cars, his church, and spending as much time with his family and his grandkids as he could. He also enjoyed traveling, especially road trips to see the countryside. He, along with his brother Fred, enjoyed driving around to go look at farm equipment. Just this past fall, Steve, Karen, and Fred made the drive out to California to visit with his daughters' family, and he truly enjoyed his time there sitting by the seashore watching the sailboats and surfers.
Surviving, in addition to his wife Karen, are two daughters, Deb (Brian) Stoller of Marshallville, and Laura (Peter) Bodrogi of Vista, CA; brothers, David (Dottie) Ramsier of Sterling, Fred (Sheila) Ramsier of Sterling, Dan (Deb) Ramsier of Seville, and Gene (Kim) Howard of Sterling; six grandchildren, Blake and Morgan Stoller, and Benjamin, Rebeka, Peter, and Laura Bodrogi; mother-in-law, Lois Baisden, of Creston; his honorary son, Daniel Aller of Sterling; brother-in-law, Eric (Maria) Baisden of Doylestown; sister-in-law, Cindy (Curtis) Vaughn of Rittman; and numerous nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his parents, his son Marlin Ramsier, and his father-in-law William Baisden.
Friends may call from 2-4pm and 6-8pm on Friday, May 27, 2022, at Auble-Gillman Funeral Home, 360 W. Sunset Dr., Rittman, or from 9:30-10:15am on Saturday morning at the church.
Services will be held at 10:30 am on Saturday morning at the Rittman Apostolic Christian Church, 10699 Steiner Road, Rittman, with ministers of the church officiating. Burial will take place at the Apostolic Cemetery in Rittman.
